While working in the bridal industry, I have come across many couples who were wanting to elope, but didn't know how hard it would be to plan. There’s a common misconception that eloping is the “easy” option. While elopements and small scaled weddings do typically require less planning, it doesn't always equal less stress. In reality, it’s just different work, and often just as overwhelming.
I learned this firsthand while planning my own elopement in 2020 and a destination micro wedding nearly two years later. Navigating travel logistics, legal requirements, vendors, timelines, and design without a traditional roadmap was eye-opening. It made one thing very clear, even when you scale down the guest count, the planning doesn’t magically disappear.
Over the years I have realized that many couples aren’t interested in a large, traditional wedding, but still crave an intentional, beautiful experience that actually feels like them. And yet, the industry often shows the extremes: full-scale weddings or courthouse elopements. Not much in between.
That’s why Ever Kelley Events exists; for couples who want a wedding that feels like them. Not traditional for the sake of tradition, and not scaled back in meaning or experience. Just thoughtful, elevated celebrations, no matter the guest count, designed with intention, personality, and a whole lot of heart.
My dad, Carmen, (though most people knew him as “Kelley”) was the life of the party. He wasn't loud or an extrovert, and he certainly would never volunteer to be the host. He simply had a way of making a room feel warm, connected, and alive. Truly, he was the funniest person I knew.
He loved family more than anything, especially being a father. He believed in me, definitely more than I believed in myself. He encouraged me to trust my instincts, build something that felt true, and to never kiss ass.
This business is named in honor of the man who taught me that memories matter, people matter, and showing up with heart is what makes anything worth celebrating. These are the values he instilled in me, and the same ones I hope to help others experience through every gathering I touch.
Even with just a photographer and an officiant, elopements still come with big decisions, legal requirements, and possible travel logistics. Couples looking to elope, whether it is abroad or at the local courthouse, can face an overwhelming amount of logistical tasks, cultural nuances, and planning fatigue from researching countless vendors.
I eliminate uncertainty. I clarify marriage laws, permits, witness requirements, and travel logistics so you don’t have to second-guess or worry you missed something important. I save you time and mental energy. Instead of spending hours researching forums, blogs, and conflicting advice, you get clear answers and a plan tailored to your destination. I help you avoid costly or stressful mistakes. From incorrect paperwork, to unrealistic timelines or travel mishaps, I help you get it right the first time. I turn “just us” into something intentional. I help shape the experience, ceremony flow, location timing, vow structure, and meaningful details. This way it feels purposeful, not rushed or improvised. I’m your calm, experienced sounding board. You don’t have to figure it out alone or rely on Google. You have a real human who’s done this before and knows what to prioritize.
Nope! While 100+ guest weddings are fun, they are not what I focus on. There are soooooo many great planners that do though, and if you need help finding one, I have plenty of recommendations! Do you have a few extra guest that put you slightly over the "micro" wedding guest count? No worries, reach out and check!
Yes, of course! The packages on my site are a way to give you an idea of what can be done, what is typically done, and how much it costs to do so. However, we can add or take away any element, just reach out for a custom quote!

Oh yeah… so about that...I currently can’t work weddings that fall on a Friday or Saturday. And listen, I get that this is lowkey crazy since most people plan their events for a Friday or Saturday. However, I do have a valid reason!
Right now, I work Wednesday–Saturday at Gilded Bridal (located in Downtown Raleigh if you want to check us out). Fridays and Saturdays are also our busiest days at the shop, so I’m needed there.
But here’s the amazing thing about planning your big day on a Sunday–Thursday: the money you’ll save by choosing an "off" day! Plus, a lot of courthouses are only open during the week.
I offer packages where I handle all the heavy lifting up front and may not even need to be there day-of, depending on your event. If you’re dead set on a Friday or Saturday where someone is needed, no worries, I do have a trusted team who can step in for an additional fee.
